The Confession Dilemma
Over the course of the last 18 months researching the claims of both the Bible and Christianity, one of the most consistent responses I’ve received when expressing my skepticism is “you have blinded by Satan.”
Even after explaining my methodology, which includes talking exclusively to believers in order to challenge my views rather than confirm them, the charge persists.
Rather than continue debating the point, I have decided instead to grant the premise.
If I have indeed been blinded, then today I am asking for help to have the blinders removed in order that I might renounce all of my former writings and speeches as erroneous.
Because I do not “believe in my heart” that Jesus was raised from the dead, I cannot in good conscience declare it from my mouth (Romans 10:9). This would constitute telling an absolute lie to God Himself which I would not presume to do.
Instead, today I have chosen to stand openly before both God and my fellow human beings in the most honest way I know.
One of my favorite Bible verses is John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
God is the only being who could reveal absolute truth to me in a way I would unmistakingly recognize and understand. I am humbly asking for that revelation — in whatever form it might take.
I welcome both your prayers and your comments.
